I was just wondering if there was a way to incorporate magnetic levitation. . .

—oh! Since Hurricane's planet is capable of having its gravity be stabilized against, it might be a property of "Earth". It'd definitely be impossible on Terra, since the Catastrophes disrupt the magnetic fields too frequently for that to be a reliable method of flying, but maybe it's different here.
